美人在時花滿堂，
美人去後空餘牀。
牀中繡被卷不寢，
至今三載猶聞香。
香亦竟不滅，
人亦竟不來。
相思黃葉落，
白露點青苔。

When the fair one was here, the house was adorned with flowers;
When the fair one is gone, only an empty couch remains.
On the couch the embroidered quilt is rolled up and no longer used.
For three years since that day a perfume haunts the place.

The perfume strays for ever,
But she is lost for ever.
In deep anguish comes autumn, the yellow leaves fall.
White dewdrops wet the green glittering mosses.
